God Speaking to People, People Speaking To God (Full Study Guide)
“God Speaking to People, People Speaking to God.” This is series of 34 study guides I prepared for use at Brookdale Covenant Church. The series was originally designed for use in a weeknight fellowship meeting but later adapted for use in the Sunday morning Adult Formation class. Ideally each session should last 90 minutes but can be shortened to one hour so as to fit the usual Sunday morning time frame. The course begins with the study of the Old Testament people named in Matthew’s genealogy, continues with a number of studies from the Gospels and concludes with a study from the book of Revelation. Additionally, each session includes a devotional prepared from the book of Psalms. Throughout the course care is taken to inform the group members of matters related to ancient history, cultural and development of the Biblical text.
The Book of Job Scripted As Sacred Theater
I have taught the book of Job in three churches. In the process I came to suspect the book was presented as sacred theater. In the Fall of 2020 I redacted and scripted the text as a play as I lead an adult study group through the book in 12 sessions.
This is a 10 session study of the major themes covered in the writings of Isaiah, one of several prophets the LORD appointed to speak His word to the nation of Judah during the 8th century BCE.
